  What we do

 

      Preserving and enhancing the historic environment -

      This includes listed buildings, conservation areas, traditional structures and through good new development.

 

      Services provided by the Conservation team include:

 

►   To give advice on new development in historic areas, changes to listed buildings

       and the character of conservation areas;

►   To identify and appraise conservation areas, and promote policies and schemes

       for their preservation and enhancement (e.g. building repairs and townscape improvements);

►   To advise on energy efficiency adaptions to historic buildings and areas, where possible; and

►   To provide advice on traditional building skills and materials, and their repair.
