What is the difference between a full Official Search and a Personal Search?
The official search is certified by the Council. The Local Land Charges Act makes provision for compensation if anything goes wrong. The accompanying Con 29R questionnaire is completed by trained Council staff who have access to the definitive information required.
A personal search can be made of the Register of Local Land Charges. it is the responsibility of the person carrying out the personal search to identify relevant information from public records and make any notes. The result is not certified by the Council.
