Licensing Policy

The Licensing Act 2003 requires all Licensing Authorities to have in place a policy that provides information and guidance on the general approach that will be taken on alcohol, regulated entertainment and the provision of late night refreshment and those policies must be reviewed every three years. The current policy is our second version and was adopted by this Council on 15 December 2010 with effect from 7 January 2011.

A downloadable version is available here word icon Licensing Policy 2010 [1Mb] or, if you contact the Licensing Team on 01884 224617/8 or 9, or write to us at Phoenix House, Phoenix Lane, Tiverton EX16 6PP, we will send you a copy.

More information on more detailed aspects of the Licensing Act 2003, including application forms, as well as advice on what to do if a licensed premises is causing problems (see Review of Premises Licences and Club Premises Certificates) is available on our Licensing pages.
