Oakford Village

Welcome to the Oakford village web-site.

Oakford is a small village nestling in the hills between Dartmoor and Exmoor. The terrain is very hilly, so that walks tend to be rather energetic. It is a rural community with farming, dairy, beef, and chickens. There is a pub, the Red Lion, with accommodation, village shop with post office (Tuesday 2-4pm only), church, village hall with excellent facilities, and several Bed and Breakfast places in and around the village.

Access to the village is off the B3227 South Molton Road, at Hamslade Cross.

New pages will be added to record village activities and events, walks in the area and the history of the village, as well as the people who live here.
