Oakford VillageWelcome to the Oakford village web-site.Oakford is a small village nestling in the hills between Dartmoor and Exmoor. The terrain is very hilly, so that walks tend to be rather energetic. It is a rural community with farming, dairy, beef, and chickens. There is a church, active village hall with excellent facilities, and several Bed and Breakfast places in and around the village. Access to the village centre is off the B3227 South Molton Road, at Hamslade Cross. It is a very large parish of some 2200 acres and includes the smaller settlements of Oakfordbridge, Stuckeridge, High Bolham, Upcott, Spurway, and many outlying farms and houses. If you pay a precept to Oakford Parish Council you are part of Oakford! We hope that you will find this web site useful and join in with all the activities and events that take place in Oakford during the year.
