Whether it’s compliancy with prescribed regulations, statutory notices, technical documents or advertising, our Pre-Application Advice Service can help with all aspects of your application.
This service is applicable to applications for new premises, variations, transfers and changes to licence.
Any person who keeps a breeding establishment for dogs at any premises and carries on at those premises a business of breeding dogs for sale must obtain a licence.
The number of litters produced does not necessarily dictate whether or not a licence is required but a person will be presumed to be carrying on a business where during any 12 month period five or more litters are born to their bitches. This includes bitches kept:
- by any person at the premises
- by any relative of the person at the premises
- elsewhere by the person
- anywhere by the person under a breeding arrangement/contact with another person
The premises will be inspected by an authorised vet.
What are the conditions for compliancy?
We have model conditions that all premises must comply with.
How much does it cost?
Please see our Animal Licensing Fees for all related charges.
