Gambling Act Consultation

Mid Devon District Council is currently consulting on a draft Gambling Act Statement of Principles. This is Mid Devon District Council’s fourth Statement of Principles since the introduction of the Act.

The Policy has assisted in promoting the three licensing objectives:

  • preventing gambling from being a source of crime or disorder, being associated with crime or disorder or being used to support crime;
  • ensuring that gambling is conducted in a fair and open way; and
  • protecting children and other vulnerable persons from being harmed or exploited by gambling.

The draft document can be found below, along with a consultation response form. If you wish to make a response this form can be completed and posted back to us at Licensing, Mid Devon District Council, Phoenix House, Phoenix Lane, Tiverton, Devon, EX16 6PP or alternatively emailed to licensing@middevon.gov.uk

The final date for responses is 10 August 2018.

All responses will be analysed and then a final draft Statement of Principles will be submitted to the Licensing Committee for comment and recommendation for approval at full Council. The policy will then replace the existing policy on 31 January 2019.
