What personal information do you hold?
We will collect the name, address, telephone number and email address of the applicant. The search applicant is usually the solicitor/ licenced conveyancer or an intermediary acting on behalf of the purchaser. We do not collect the personal details of the purchaser unless they themselves are applying to us for a search (without the use of a third party).
Once we have collected your details you will be taken to a third party site hosted by CAPITA plc, they will process your payment and provide us with an authorisation number and amount paid when your payment is successful. We use your information so that we can provide you with a receipt using the email that you have provided. We do not collect or store your card details

The information is being collected by Local Land Charges, Mid Devon District Council, Phoenix House, Phoenix Lane, Tiverton EX16 6PP
How is it collected?
We collect the information on the search application form and transfer it to our computer system
Why is it being collected?
All Local Land Charge searches are processed in accordance with the Local Land Charges Act 1975 and the Local Land Charges Rules 1977 (as amended). In order to process the application we will require your contact details
How will it be used?
We use your information to return your search results to you and to enable us to contact you with queries that may arise during the processing of your search.
Who will it be shared with
Your contact details will be shared with Devon County Council as they provide part of the search result.
What are you doing to ensure the security of personal information?
All ICT systems are accredited to Public Service Network standards with access restricted to relevant staff. All paper records are stored securely and we have a clear desk policy
How long will you be keeping the personal information for?
All local authority searches are held securely and permanently on our computer system in line with our insurer’s requirements.
