Garden waste collection service: Customer update
Due to the current situation and latest advice regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus), our waste service has been operating with a reduced number of staff. In light of this, we took the decision to suspend our garden waste collection service during the past two weeks (23 March to 3 April).
During this challenging time and potentially again in the future, it was important that we focused our stretched resources on our most important services. By suspending the garden waste service, we were able to use our vehicles and staff to support general rubbish, food and recycling collections, in the knowledge that garden waste materials can be left for longer than two weeks and can still be home-composted.
We anticipate restarting garden waste collections on your normal fortnightly collection day next week (w/c 6 and 13 April). Residents can keep up-to-date with refuse information and collection changes on our Waste services update page.
Any garden waste collections missed due to the suspension of this service will be credited on renewal of your 2020/21 permit. Any customers whose subscriptions expired during the suspension will receive their reminder to renew once the service recommences.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding and patience, during what is an incredibly challenging time for everyone. Our thoughts go out to all our customers, colleagues and families affected by the virus.
