Gypsy and Traveller Forum

Gypsy and Traveller Forum meeting cancelled (17th April)

The Gypsy and Traveller Forum meeting on Friday 17th April has been cancelled following Government advice about limiting social contact and travel because of the coronavirus. We place great value on everyone’s health and safety and wish members of the travelling community well at this difficult time. We look forward to being able to hold the next Forum meeting later this year and will provide more information about that as soon as we are able to do so.

More information about how the Council’s services have been affected by covid-19 are provided on our website here:

We are keeping in touch with the Devon Gypsy and Traveller Liaison Officer about how the travelling community may be affected by the restrictions on social contact and travel and will keep this webpage up to date.

Some further information about the coronavirus has been published by the Friends Families Travellers (FFT) organisation:

If you need to contact us we are currently working away from the Council’s offices and are unable to take incoming telephone calls, but can be contacted by email on and will be in touch as soon as possible.

We setup a Gypsy and Traveller Forum which was approved by our Cabinet on 1 March 2018, and follows the good practice established by the Teignbridge Gypsy and Traveller Forum:

The Forum will usually take place twice a year, with meetings in the spring and in the autumn.

If you have any questions or would like to register your interest in attending, please email
