We setup a Gypsy and Traveller Forum which was approved by our Cabinet on 1 March 2018, and follows the good practice established by the Teignbridge Gypsy and Traveller Forum:

The Forum will usually take place twice a year, with meetings in the spring and in the autumn.

Gypsy and Traveller Accommodation Needs Assessment 2022

We wish to let the Gypsy and Traveller community know that we are working with Exeter City Council, East Devon District Council and Teignbridge District Council to undertake a new Gypsy and Traveller Accommodation Assessment (GTAA). The last GTAA was completed in 2015 and a new GTAA is needed to help us find out more about current and future needs for new sites and pitches across the study area. This information can be used by the Councils in the preparation of their new Local Plans, and can also be used help inform planning applications submitted to the Councils for determination and the decisions made on these. The GTAA will be undertaken by a suitable consultant, and it will involve engagement with the Gypsy and Traveller community to find out about housing needs. We will publish further information about the GTAA and how you can get involved over the coming weeks.
