Your Tenancy Agreement is the document you sign when you become a tenant of Mid Devon District Council. It is a legally binding contract between you and us. It sets out your rights and responsibilities as a tenant and our responsibilities to you as your landlord.
We offer a variety of different types of tenancies, which include Introductory, Secure and Flexible tenancies - samples can be viewed in the downloads section of this page.
If you would like to see a copy of your Tenancy Agreement, please contact Your neighbourhood officer.
Tenancy Agreement – Variation of Notice
During the year, our Housing team has been consulting with secure tenants on proposed changes to their tenancy agreement. The consultation period has now ended.
A Notice of Variation and Variation of terms & conditions of Your Secure Tenancy will be sent to all secure tenants and should be landing on door steps from 29 September 2016. The variation will take effect on 7 November 2016. This means the new terms and conditions of the tenancy agreement come into effect on this date and the old tenancy agreement is obsolete. Each joint tenant will receive a copy of the documents separately.
If you are one of our secure tenants, you don't need to take any action. Please read the documents so that you are aware of the terms and conditions and keep in a safe place for future reference. You don't need to sign or return the documents.
