From December 2018, our Customer Service staff at Phoenix House, Tiverton will cease processing over-the-counter payments.

If you need to make any payments for council services such as housing rent, council tax, business rates, fees and fines, etc., you’ll be able to pay by cash, debit or credit card using our kiosk, or debit or credit card using our new self-service portals.

Why won’t I be able to see a Cashier to take my payment?

We appreciate this decision may not be favourable with the minority of customers who prefer to make regular payments at our cash desks. However, as part of our continued drive to improve efficiency and ensure money is spent on essential services, our staff will stop processing payments manually at our cashier desks. This change will save £24,000 per year, which will be used to provide more cost effective and high quality services to residents and businesses.

To assist our customers’ transition to using the kiosk and new self-service portals, our friendly Customer First staff will be on hand to help throughout December.

Please note: our leisure centres will NOT be affected by these changes.

Where can I use cash, cheques or cards?

If you prefer to pay for housing rent or council tax by cheque, you can do so by taking your bill or payment swipe card to any Post Office or PayZone outlet. Check the following table for where different payment methods can be used:
