Fixed Term - 24 months - 37 hours per week
Salary: £3.70 per hour

An opportunity has arisen in our small busy team for an apprentice to support the work of the Procurement function providing administrative support and guidance to the wider Council in all aspects of purchasing activity.

This position would suit someone aspiring to work in the local government or business sectors and will give the individual an excellent grounding in day to day purchasing and procurement activities and also an insight into the workings of the wider Council who we provide our services to.

The role will require involvement with a wide range of departments across the Council; so no two days will be the same.

Full training will be provided to the successful applicant who must be confident and comfortable communicating at all levels, with good organisational and computer skills and a strong regard for customer service.

The successful candidate will undertake the majority of the training at Mid Devon District Council. This will include on the job training as well as working toward a Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Business and Administration.

A satisfactory basic disclosure check and three years complete employment history will be requested in the event of you being offered the position.
