We are currently looking to recruit a Resilience Officer on a part time basis.

 This is a varied role which will involve working closely with the senior management team and service leads within the Council to ensure the wellbeing of residents and communities during an emergency and to protect the prosperity of the district during periods of disruption.

 As a Resilience Officer your duties will include but are not limited to:

  •  Undertake production, maintenance and testing of Emergency Planning plans and procedures;
  • Embed the Council’s Emergency Planning plans and procedures across the organisation including the development of an overarching Resilience Strategy
  • Maintain the Emergency Planning webpages and communications channels;
  • Support a community resilience approach to Emergency Planning;
  • Ensure resilience of the council services by maintaining a robust Business Continuity Management System to protect critical services for residents
  • Work with organisers of major events to ensure that safety requirements and the needs of residents are addressed as part of the event planning
  • Work closely with partners across the Devon Emergency Planning Partnership and the Devon, Cornwall and IOS Local Resilience Forum
