Active Mid Devon hosts wellbeing drop-in for unpaid carers
Active Mid Devon recently welcomed local unpaid carers to a special wellbeing drop-in session at Active Tiverton.
The session offered carers the chance to unwind, connect, and recharge, with activities including a free swim, a fitness class, and refreshments, alongside the opportunity to chat with care ambassadors and share experiences.
The event provided a well-deserved break, allowing carers to focus on their own wellbeing – something that can often be overlooked when caring for others. Feedback from attendees has been extremely positive, with many noting the value of having time to relax and connect.
Kelly Lee, Customer Experience Manager at Active Mid Devon, said:
“It is fantastic that we can support unpaid carers in our community. We recognise the ongoing contribution unpaid carers make and are pleased to give something back.
“This event is part of our commitment to the Carer Friendly Scheme and our continuing to work together with Devon Carers and Unite to help support unpaid carers in Mid Devon.”
Given the success of the session, Active Mid Devon is already exploring plans for similar events in the future to continue promoting wellbeing for our community.
