Privacy Notice – Community protection notice

Where a community protection notice (CPN) has been issued and you are required to pay a penalty charge you are supplying us with information about your name, address and contact numbers.


This information is collected by Public Health and Regulatory Services at Mid Devon District Council.


The information is collected through the Council’s online request form and stored on our system electronically.


The information is used to ensure the payment of the penalty charge is being made against the correct CPN.


The information is used to process your payment.


Your data will be shared with our 3rd party payment supplier CAPITA to facilitate payment. It may also be shared with other council departments that need to know a payment has been made.


Any correspondence between agencies or departments which contains personal information is sent by encrypted email. All other information in paper form is scanned to the electronic file and the paper copy destroyed via confidential waste processes.


We are legally required to keep your information for 6 years from the date the notice has been spent
