Get creative and help celebrate the 80th Anniversary of VE Day
2025 marks 80 years since the end of the Second World War, with Victory in Europe (VE) Day on 8 May 1945.
To help celebrate, Mid Devon District Council invites all young artists across Mid Devon to get creative this Easter. Children of all ages are invited to design a colourful, vibrant poster that captures the spirit of celebration. Think street parties, poppies, waving Union Flags and emotional family reunions — anything that symbolises the joy felt on VE Day.
The creator of the winning entry will receive a VE Day Commemorative Flag and a fish and chip supper for their family – the perfect tribute to this historic day!
The deadline for entries is Friday, 2 May 2025. Artwork can be submitted either by post or email:
- Post/hand deliver: Communications, Phoenix House, Phoenix Lane, Tiverton, EX16 6PP
- Email (scanned copies): communications@middevon.gov.uk
Entry forms and a poster template can be downloaded at:

- By entering, you agree that Mid Devon District Council may contact you regarding the competition and may display your artwork publicly in Tiverton as part of the celebrations.
