Mid Devon District Council has received a Certificate of Exceptional Quality from HM Land Registry, marking the second year in a row that its Land Charges team has been recognised for outstanding performance.

The certificate recognises the Council’s achievement in maintaining exceptional data quality standards for all charges registered or updated during 2025*. The quality standards are based on monthly quality checks to ensure records are accurate, correctly mapped and up to date, ensuring that property buyers, businesses and legal professionals can trust the information they receive.

This latest recognition also builds on the team’s previous success in 2025, when Mid Devon District Council was awarded Gold Standard status by HM Land Registry for delivering exceptional data management and service performance.

The team also has a long-standing track record, completing over 98% of searches within five working days every year since 2010/11.

Councillor Matt Fletcher, Cabinet Member for People Development, said:
