New wellbeing walks launching in Cullompton
Mid Devon residents are invited to take the first steps towards improved health and wellbeing with the launch of new Ramblers Wellbeing Walks in Cullompton.
The walks are part of Active Mid Devon’s Active Communities initiative which encourages people to get active and connect with others through local community activities. Delivered in partnership with Active Devon, the free walks will take place every Tuesday at 10:30, starting on 8 September 2026.
Participants will meet at Active Cullompton, EX15 1LL, before setting off for a relaxed 30-minute walk. After the walk, refreshments will be available, giving people the chance to chat, meet new people and build connections within their community.
The walks are designed to be welcoming, sociable and accessible, encouraging people of all ages and abilities to enjoy fresh air, gentle physical activity and many benefits of spending time with others. Active Mid Devon also hope to introduce additional walks in the future to cater for different abilities.
Councillor Josh Wright, Cabinet Member for Service Delivery & Continuous Improvement said:
“Our Ramblers Wellbeing Walks are about making physical activity simple, enjoyable and accessible for everyone. Just 30 minutes of walking can have a positive impact on both physical and mental wellbeing, and walking with others is a great way to meet new people and feel more connected to your local community.”
Residents interested in taking part are welcome to come along on the day, with no booking required. Comfortable clothing and suitable footwear are recommended.
