Crofts House has now secured four industry awards in 2026, highlighting its success in delivering sustainable, affordable housing in rural Mid Devon.

The development was delivered using Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), with homes manufactured off-site and installed onsite in a matter of days, resulting in minimal disruption to neighbouring properties.

The homes, built in partnership with ZED PODS, welcomed new tenants in June 2025 and consists of five 1-bedroom flats. Designed to be highly energy efficient, the homes are zero-operational carbon, helping to reduce energy costs for residents.

Crofts House has now picked up four major awards this year:

• Neighbourhood Transformation at Aico Community Awards 2026
• Sustainability & Circular Construction at Industrialised Construction Awards 2026
• MMC Project of the Year at Construction News Awards 2026
• Residential Project of the Year at Construction Excellence Southwest Awards 2026

Councillor Jane Lock, Cabinet Member for Housing, Assets & Property Services, said:
