Visit Mid Devon and Visit South Devon Join Forces to Help Businesses Grow Group Travel Opportunities
Tourism, leisure and hospitality businesses across Mid Devon are invited to attend a free Group and Travel Trade Workshop this September, designed to help businesses tap into the growing group travel market and develop new visitor experiences.
Delivered in partnership by Visit Mid Devon and Visit South Devon, the workshop will take place on Thursday 24 September 2026 at Mid Devon District Council, Phoenix House, Tiverton, with arrival from 10am and the event concluding at 12:45pm.
The business-to-business event will provide practical advice on how local businesses can increase group and travel trade bookings, develop products and experiences that appeal to coach operators and tour organisers, and build valuable industry connections.
Attendees will hear from industry experts, gain insights into current market trends, and discover new opportunities to attract visitors through group travel and the travel trade sector. The workshop will also offer networking opportunities with fellow tourism, hospitality and leisure businesses.
Councillor Steve Keable, Mid Devon District Council's Cabinet Member for Planning and Economic Regeneration, said:
"Tourism plays a vital role in Mid Devon's economy, and this workshop is an excellent opportunity for local businesses to explore new markets and grow their customer base. By working in partnership with Visit South Devon, we can provide businesses with valuable industry knowledge, practical advice and the connections they need to make the most of group travel opportunities. I would encourage any tourism, leisure or hospitality business looking to expand its reach to attend."
The workshop is free to attend, but places are limited and advance booking is essential.
To reserve your place, email jo@visitsouthdevon.co.uk.
Businesses from across the tourism, leisure and hospitality sectors are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to gain practical marketing advice, develop new products for the group travel market, and establish valuable industry connections.
Businesses interested in learning more about the group travel and travel trade market but unable to attend on the day are encouraged to get in touch. Subject to demand, Visit Mid Devon and Visit South Devon would be happy to explore hosting a webinar at a later date to ensure businesses can still benefit from the information and advice shared.
