What you need to know
We can provide a free separate collection to householders for infectious waste, which includes the safe collection and disposal of items such as hypodermic needles and dialysis waste. This service is not available to commercial or clinical properties or service providers.
All clinical waste collections in Mid Devon take place weekly on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Clinical waste must be made ready for collection by placing it in either sealed yellow clinical waste bags or sharps boxes, which are provided free of charge on an exchange basis.
Our contractor uses an unmarked van so that your collection will remain discreet. You can also request this service via your medical practitioner, such as your doctor, district nurse, hospital or clinic.
What we need
You will need to tell us that you would like a sharps box delivery or collection, the number of boxes, and your name and address.
