Households on low-incomes can get help with food and energy costs through the Government’s latest Household Support Fund, which is now open for applications.

Mid Devon District Council has received a share of the Government’s funding, which is aimed to help residents struggling with the cost of household essentials. The scheme can provide rapid, short-term financial support to meet immediate needs such as food, energy and water costs.

To access support you must be a Mid Devon resident over the age of 16 year- old and be without sufficient resources to meet your immediate short-term needs. The full guidelines and application form can be found on our website, Residents' Financial Support.

The scheme will run until 31st March 2026 or until funds have been spent.

Councillor John Downes Cabinet Member for Governance Finance and Risk said:

“This scheme can really help those who have faced sudden or unexpected money problems and are struggling to pay their bills, or meet essential needs for themselves or their family. We are committed to supporting people in Mid Devon who are experiencing financial problems and I would encourage anyone struggling with money concerns and needs help with food or energy bills to contact us for help and advice.”
