COVID-19: Waste services update
See our Waste services update page for regular updates concerning your bin collections and information on how to safely dispose of waste if a member of your household is infected with COVID-19.
What can be collected
We can provide a free separate collection to householders for infectious waste, which includes the safe collection and disposal of items such as hypodermic needles and dialysis waste. This service is not available to commercial or clinical properties or service providers.
Please Contact us to arrange either a one-off collection or a regular collection.
When it's collected
All clinical waste collections in Mid Devon take place weekly on Mondays and Fridays.
Clinical waste must be made ready for collection by placing it in either sealed yellow clinical waste bags or sharps boxes, which are provided free of charge on an exchange basis.
Our contractor uses an unmarked van so that your collection will remain discreet.
You can also request this service via your medical practitioner, such as your doctor, district nurse, hospital or clinic.
If your collection is missed, please Contact us to let us know so that we can inform our contractor to arrange another collection.
