Election of a Town Councillor for Tiverton Town Council (Cranmore Ward)

1. Forms of nomination for this election may be obtained from the Returning Officer at Mid Devon District Council Offices, Phoenix House, Phoenix Lane, Tiverton, Devon, EX16 6PP or from elections@middevon.gov.uk

2. Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer, Phoenix House, Phoenix Lane, Tiverton, Devon, EX16 6PP between 10am and 4pm on any working day after the date of this notice (due to Easter weekend this is Tuesday 7 April 2026) but no later than 4pm on Thursday 16 April 2026. When reception is closed (Wednesday and after 1pm on other weekdays) Please ring the election team on 01884 255255 and a member of staff will meet you.

3. If the election is contested, the poll will take place on Thursday 14 May 2026.

4. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on 27 April 2026. Applications can be made online: https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote

5. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes and amendments or cancellations of proxy votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Phoenix House, Phoenix Lane, Tiverton, Devon, EX16 6PP by 5pm on Tuesday 28 April 2026. You may apply online or download a form at https://www.gov.uk/apply-postal-vote or contact the Electoral Registration Office directly.

6. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate (free voter ID if you do not have suitable photo ID) or an Anonymous Elector's Document valid for this election, must reach The Electoral Registration Officer at Phoenix House, Phoenix Lane, Tiverton, Devon, EX16 6PP by 5pm on Wednesday 6 May 2026.

7. New applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Phoenix House, Phoenix Lane, Tiverton, Devon, EX16 6PP by 5pm on Wednesday 6 May 2026. You can find information and apply online at https://www.gov.uk/how-to-vote/voting-by-proxy

8. Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election on the grounds of physical incapacity or work commitments, where that physical incapacity or work commitment occurred after 5pm on Wednesday 6 May 2026, must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Phoenix House, Phoenix Lane, Tiverton, Devon, EX16 6PP by 5pm on Thursday 14 May 2026.
