Postal vote printing issue
55 postal voters in Tiverton and Honiton Constituency received postal voting statements for the 2019 General Election with a printing error (election date of 23 May instead of 12 December). The Acting Returning Officer consulted the Electoral Commission and wrote to the electors concerned, explaining that the incorrect statements would be accepted. The alternative would have been to cancel the votes and issue new ones, which could have resulted in some electors losing their vote. The 55 people affected were offered the option of the vote being cancelled and re-issued if they wished. One elector has asked for a replacement postal vote.
The Election Agents for the 5 candidates in the election were also notified.
