Do I need an Occupational Therapist?
Minor adaptations may not always require an OT assessment.
Most major adaptations do.
Can I choose the Adaptation I want?
The adaptation recommended will be based on your assessed needs.
Will I have to pay?
This depends on your circumstances and the type of adaptation. We will discuss any costs with you before work begins.
Can Adaptations be made in every property? And what if my Adaptation is refused?
Not always. Sometimes the layout or construction of the property means your current home may not be practical, possible or cost effective for an adaptation. If this happens, it may be more suitable for you to move to a property that better meets your needs or has already been adapted.
If we believe that moving would be the best option, we will discuss this with you and, where appropriate, your family, friends, carers, and occupational therapist to ensure all options are considered.
What if my needs change?

Can I stay in my home during the work?
In most cases, yes. If temporary arrangements are needed, we'll discuss them with you before work starts.
