Please note! You will need Internet Explorer 11 or above to view planning documents using IDOX Public Access. If you are using version 10 or before, you may wish to download and install Microsoft - Internet Explorer 11.

How can I search for, view or track a planning application?

You can use IDOX Public Access for:

  • planning applications
  • appeals
  • enforcements

You can do a simple search by:

  • keyword
  • application reference
  • postcode
  • a single line of an address

If you can't find what you're looking for using the simple search, try using the 'advanced' search option. For further guidance see the IDOX Public Access - User Guide.

Please allow up to 48 hours for plans and documents associated with planning applications to be loaded onto the website.

How can I comment on a current planning application?

You can:

  • submit a comment online using IDOX Public Access
  • email us at devcon@middevon.gov.uk quoting the planning reference number
  • write to us at: Planning, Mid Devon District Council, Phoenix House, Phoenix Lane, Tiverton, Devon EX16 6PP 

Important: Please do not include any personal information that you would not wish to be publicly available or make any discriminatory comments. We reserve the right to withhold any comments or parts of comments that are offensive or defamatory. By submitting your comments you are confirming they are your personal views and not those of the local planning authority and you agree to accept legal responsibility for your comments.

Where does your comment appear?

Comments made on planning applications are regarded as forming part of the Statutory Register and, as such, the Local Authority has a duty to make this information available for public inspection (in accordance with the provisions of the Local Government Access to Information Act (1985). Comments received will be placed on the application file and published on our website with your name and address.

Please note: If you do not provide or do not wish your name and address to appear then your comments will be treated as anonymous and your views will not be taken into account by the Planning Officer.
