Active Tiverton is a dynamic and community-focused facility committed to delivering high-quality fitness experiences. Our Fitness Consultants play a vital role in supporting members to achieve their health and wellbeing goals, while ensuring a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment.

Fitness services are regularly reviewed to ensure continuous improvement, and you will receive support from the Fitness Area Lead to help you develop and succeed in the role.

All Fitness Consultants are expected to be punctual, professional, and excellent at building rapport, and taking ownership of delivering a high quality member experience.

As a Fitness Consultant your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Carry out fitness inductions, fitness assessments, and lifestyle consultations.
  • Design and deliver personalised fitness programmes to support member goals.
  • Track and record member visits and carry out follow-up procedures to encourage retention.
  • Supervise the fitness studio and support group exercise classes as required.
  • Welcome all members to the gym and actively engage with them during their visit, building positive relationships to support member retention and overall experience.
  • Ensure a safe, welcoming, and customer-focused environment at all times.

 What We’re Looking For: 

  • Hold a current Level 2, Level 3 and/or Level 4 fitness qualifications and/or an NVQ or equivalent in sports and fitness/physical recreation
  • Group exercise instruction qualification (or willingness to work towards).
  • You will need to be pro-active and outgoing to communicate with members by developing a professional relationship which will encourage them to come back and use our facilities'
  • Knowledge of a range of the basic fitness studio equipment
  • Excellent communication and customer care skills with a proactive and outgoing approach.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
