Planning Service – January 2021 Lockdown Update
During the current COVID-19 lockdown (January 2021), Mid Devon District Council will continue to process and determine planning applications as normally as possible. Officers will only carry out essential site visits subject to complying with Government instructions and the Council’s own Risk Assessment process. Where site visits cannot be made, officers will continue to use site photos/ videos in order to make decisions.
The Pre Application Service will be suspended from 6th January 2021. The Planning Service will not accept any pre application requests for the foreseeable future. An update will be posted on this webpage as to when the pre application service will reopen
The paid Duty Officer Enquiries will continue to be answered by email only for the foreseeable future.
The Virtual Planning Committee meetings will continue to be held until further notice.
We welcome and encourage discussions at an early stage before you make your planning application. There is a cost for this service.
Spending time and effort in preparing your proposal is more likely to result in a good-quality and acceptable development and also helps us process your application more quickly.
Experience has shown that pre-application advice can save time, costs and frustration and optimise the potential of a site, see Pre-application guidance and fees.
