Report a missed collection
Before reporting a missed collection
First, please check our Daily waste collection updates page as we may already be aware of problems in your area. If your area has already been listed as missed, there is no need to contact us; please follow the advice provided or revisit the page for further updates.
If your area has not been listed, please check the following before contacting us:
- did you put your bins, bags or boxes out either the night before or by 6am on day of collection?
- did you put the right bins, bags or boxes out on the right day and the right week? Most collections are fortnightly: check your dates using our Collection day lookup facility
- are you sure you put the right materials in the right containers? Check What can you put out?
- did you put your bins, bags and boxes out at the kerbside and where they can be seen easily?
What to do
If you answered 'yes' to all the questions above, then please use our Report a missed collection form. As our operatives can be out collecting until 6pm please do not log a missed collection until after this time.
If you answered 'no' to any of the questions above, please keep your waste until your next scheduled collection. If some of your waste has been rejected and you've received a sticker or advice slip, please follow the guidance given for future collections.
Reasons we may have missed your collection
Bad weather, a vehicle breakdown or staff shortages may mean we don't get to you at the usual time or we're unable to complete a round on the scheduled day. This will also affect other households on your round. When we know we have a problem, we post notifications on the Daily waste collection updates page and on Facebook and Twitter. On other occasions, our collection crew may have missed individual collections by mistake.
