COVID-19: Waste services update

See our Waste services update page for regular updates concerning your bin collections and information on how to safely dispose of waste if a member of your household is infected with COVID-19.

Stay updated, stay informed!

Receive missed collection alerts for your area by signing up to our free email subscription service.

Using our customisable preferences, you can also choose to receive news and important information on other council services that are of interest to you!

Occasionally, we may miss areas to collect from due to operational issues or incidents occurring outside our control. These can include incidents such as breakdowns to collection vehicles, no access due to road closures or inclement weather.

Any areas we've missed will be listed below:

Wednesday, 25 March 2020

From tomorrow, Thursday, 26 March, reusable textiles such as clothes, sheets, blankets, curtains, towels, shoes, handbags and belts will no longer be collected as part of your fortnightly kerbside recycling collection service, or any of the clothing banks in Devon until further notice. This is due to the area of this service provided by our contractor (the Salvation Army, who processes the textiles collected by all Devon authorities), now being classified as 'non-essential'.

In the meantime, if you have any textiles that are reusable, please keep hold of them until these restrictions can be lifted, at which point we anticipate that charities will be in urgent need of clean and wearable donations.
