Daily waste collection updates
Occasionally, we may miss areas to collect from due to operational issues or incidents occurring outside our control. These can include incidents such as breakdowns to collection vehicles, no access due to road closures or inclement weather.
Any areas we've missed will be listed below:
Wednesday, 25 March 2020
From tomorrow, Thursday, 26 March, reusable textiles such as clothes, sheets, blankets, curtains, towels, shoes, handbags and belts will no longer be collected as part of your fortnightly kerbside recycling collection service, or any of the clothing banks in Devon until further notice. This is due to the area of this service provided by our contractor (the Salvation Army, who processes the textiles collected by all Devon authorities), now being classified as 'non-essential'.
In the meantime, if you have any textiles that are reusable, please keep hold of them until these restrictions can be lifted, at which point we anticipate that charities will be in urgent need of clean and wearable donations.
Monday, 23 March 2020
We've had to suspend fortnightly garden waste collections until further notice.
We've reduced weekly food waste collections to fortnightly until further notice. This will be collected on the same day as your recycling and black sack waste, which remains unchanged.
All deliveries of waste containers have been suspended until further notice.
We've discontinued our bulky waste collection service for the time being and we won't be taking any further bookings until further notice. If you've already booked a collection for today, this will still go ahead.
